Innovation with limitation

50x Faster Than BitTorrent: I Want, I see how irony things are.
I am for innovation. In this post, it shows how technology has flourished in China because it does not have developers designing the software with the fear of lawsuit from traditional media companies.
I am just sadden to see the US simply just control by some few companies or organizations. The US citizen have limited choice on Internet service, selection of TV cable companies, and now not even the choice to choose a cell phone company with the iPhone.
I often think about why RIAA doing what they are doing. It is the business thinking that since they are making money from selling physical content in CD, they want to make money through the Internet on top of it. They instead of changing business model with the technology, they are just finding way to generate more revenue through different channels. Now they are not only not making revenue, they are losing trust from artist. It is great to see artists taking steps on their own by selling their product with the technology, changing the way they generate revenue for themselves.
If we does not break out like the artist and having those limitation apply on our innovation from the few big companies, we are not really pursuing our dream.
