The Decline of Quality Service
December 12th, 2007 | by Kennith |
I used to appreciate the services when I went to a restaurant or a store.
It seems that since a year ago, the art of quality service had gone. I first asked myself if I was asking more now than couple years ago, I found I still have the same expectation as then. Therefore, it must not be me requesting more from others.
I went to McDonald this morning to have some breakfast. I do not usually go for breakfast, but since I was really craving for pancakes lately, I figured McDonald is the fastest and easiest way to go.
So, I ordered a breakfast deluxe. Since it was a take out, I assumed all the condiments are there because the server did not ask if I need anything.
I was about to enjoy this breakfast deluxe which had egg, bacons, platter, muffin, and pancakes inside.
Hmm… the egg is kind of tasteless, let me add some salt. It had no salt. It is OK, I could use my own.
Hmm… the muffin looked good. Where was the jam? Fine, I would eat it plain by itself.
Saved the best for last, pancakes. I opened the syrup, where was the butter?
How come there were so many ingredients missing? I remembered I used to have those condiments without asking for it. It even gave more than they supposed to.
But, what happened?
If there were no interaction between the customer and server, why not we buy everything from the vending machine?
